Physical Abuse is a form of abuse in which the child is beaten for no particular reason.
Symptoms
How can you tell if someone has gone through physical abuse? Here are a few ways:
- Bruises or welts on their face, chest, neck or back.
- Injuries in the shape of the object, such a a belt or a cord.
- Unexplained burns on their palms, the soles of their feet or their back.
- Fractures that do not fit the story of how they happened.
- Delay or reluctance in seeking medical help.
- Behavioral extremes such as being very agressive or withdrawn and shy.
- Being afraid to go home.
- Being afraid of their parents or guardians.
- Being afraid of other adults.
