Saviors for Strays
About Us!
Our organization is opening more shelters, and we have free adoptions. People who are adopting have to have an appropriate housing for the animal they wish to adopt and have to be able to provide proper care and food, if not we will not let them adopt. We are holding adoption events in local pet stores and in our shelters.

Our Mission
Our mission is to help reduce the amount of animals without homes and who live on the street. We are trying to help animals get into a home that they will be loved and appreciated in. We are also working to reduce the amount of animals that are euthanized in shelters each year.
The Facts
- In the U.S. alone there is an estimate of about 70 million stray dogs and cats.
- Even though a few animals are rehoused because of their size or nature, most of them become homeless because of human causes such as a housing crisis, allergies, or abuse.
- It is estimated that between 4.6 and 6 million cats and dogs die in animal shelters each year.
- Cats and dogs are 15 times more likely to die because of an abuser then they are to be euthanized by a shelter.
- About 6.5 million dogs, cats, and other animals are abandoned every year.
- Only 3.2 million of the 6.5 million animals are adopted, and most are returned to shelters within a year of being adopted.
- Around anywhere from 3.5 to 4.1 million shelter animals are adopted every year.
- It is estimated that more than 920,000 shelter animals are euthanized each year.
- Around 10 million animals die from abuse from humans every year.
- World wide, around 1 or more animals are abused every 60 seconds.
