• 49% of all adults struggle to pay for a sports team for their child. Only 24% of children play sports that come from families who make $25,000 or less Average cost on a season of sports for a child is $883. In a survey done by the Commission on the State of U.S. Olympics and Paralympics more than half of them said they struggled to afford youth sports. More than 4 out of 5 adults say sports should be more accessible.

• In 2020 the average equipment to play a sport was $54.33 and then in 2021 it was estimated to be $111.80. The cost doubled in 1 year.

• In the span of 10 years, boy’s participation in sports in NM went down from 27,000 to 25,000 because of an increase in prices.
