We’ve been talking about how what we want is to inform people about guinea pigs well this is this section. While we are not a real non-profit all our information is accurate and real. In this section we will go over cages, food, bedding, and where to get guinea pigs. First, people think that those tiny cages you get at the petstore are suitable for guinea pigs but they’re not, they are way too small and are not supposed to be multilevel. If you want to find a good cage I recommend c and c and look at housing guidelines. For food guinea pigs do not eat only pellets in fact they eat very little (1 to 2 tablespoons per pig per day) of a plain no treats, seeds, ect, with only natural brown pellets.
So if guinea pigs eat little pellets what do they mainly eat? The answer is hay! You should get a nice, non-rocky, green hay that they will eat a lot of. For bedding you can get many great options like paper, aspen, or hemp based beddings, but the easiest and cheapest is fleece. Fleece and an absorbent layer wicks away moisture keeping your piggies dry and comfy. Last, getting guinea pigs at pet stores is a bad idea. These guinea pigs are often sick or mis-sexed. The best place to get a guinea pig is a rescue as these piggies are cared for well and can be very young or old. Well what about a friend? Piggies need to be kept in groups with other piggies to be happy and thrive, for them you can get any age of piggy friend.
