How opensource works:
Open source is a way where the community all contributes to a project by submitting ideas, code, and assets. For our fake non profit, we have complete open source, where every asset, line of code, and idea is worked out together. This is best for free games and free office software, as well as niche code. Then there is partial open source, where you revoke a piece of code that uses a paid activation key. This is best for paid office software(must be <$6). Then there is the revoked model open source, where code is open source, but assets are revoked with an AES 128 key to unlock the game and make it playable.(This is only for paid games that have to be <$20). All hardware projects will have to be completely open source, and will have to apply for funding, where we will approve or disapprove of it, and fundraise to get it in production. All sales will have to give a 30% cut of the profit to us, where it will be used for infusing more projects.
Donate used hardware:
If you have used computers or parts, it would be wise to donate them. For in person drop off(recommended for large lots or sensitive information), we will write a file that is completely 0’s such that no data is ever recovered. If you just have an old PC you want to get rid off, either erase the drive through windows disk management or disk utility. This hardware will be sold at extremely low prices in order to fund projects. Laptops(excluding framework laptops and other repairable ones) are better to be donated to more laptop focused refurbishers,
