From quinet on openverse

Ever heard of the Dodo Bird? If you haven't, this is an extinct bird that went extinct due to humans. It first was recorded in the 1590s and then became extinct in 1662. Only for 72 years the human kind was able to accept this odd bird. The Dodo is one of many that have gone extinct in the last thousands of years. Some others include the laughing owl, the Eastern Elk, the California Grizzly Bear, and many more. One thing that they all have in common was that they all were driven out by human activity. The Dodo Bird was killed by hunters, sailors, and invasive species.

🦬 Population of the Endangered 🦬

What are some of the first animals you learn when you are little? You might be thinking of Elephants, Pandas, Rhinos, Narwhals and many more. Right now, there are way over 48,600 species that are endangered including the ones we have known our whole lives (like I listed above). There are only 50 Javan Rhinos left in the world and only 15,000 white rhinos. Experts are trying to save these rhinos, but it may only be a matter of time in which someone decides to hurt one. Their lives matter.
