Math is the concept of numbers and how to work with them. There are many different types of math such as algebra, geometry, triginometry, and more! Math is vital to almost everything you see, from leaves on the ground to the majectic airplanes up above.
Do you know what all of those letters in your math problems are, those are called unknowns. When solving for these, you must isolate the unknown, so you many get something like "x"=5. To solve for these types of eqations with multiple terms, this is where it gets harder. For example, try solving 3"x"+5=15+"x". First, try simplifying the equation by thinking it to be like a ratio or a fraction. Like 1/2=3/6 or 1:2=4:8. Like these properties, equations work like this too. EVERYTHING you do to one side of an equation that is not simplifying it, you must do to the other side. Another thing you must remember is combining like terms. In other words, you can't combine, say, 2 and "x", because you don't know the value of "x". Even combining the same values of an unknown number like "x" and "x" cannot truely be combined, since their values are still unknown. You would denote this as 2 times "x", or 2"x", and 2"x" - "x" would be 1"x". So when solving for "x" in this case, you would get "x"=5. Try these problems for yourself to get a better understanding for this!
Math can most directly be related to science and physics. This relationship is formed due to how necessary it is to understand important numbers and how it relates to different theories, forces, etc., and how rates and changes are also important for measuring velosity or the rate of change in an object (this is calculus). One famous example is Newton's universal law for gravitation, or Einstein's theory of relativity for another!
