Snouts and Seniors
Senior Homes
We come to visit lots of different senior homes. Like What? Plum Valley Living, Actaran Senior Homes, Acacia Elder Living, Lantana Assisted Living, Edith Senior Living, and Passageway Elder Homes. So if you know anyone living in those places tell them to go down to the lobby!
Our Story
Snouts and Seniors was founded in March of 2026 by April Berger. She saw the lonely elders and the sad dogs and paired them together. When she gathered a group, we saw the studies of elders with and without pets and the results were obvious. Elders without pets were more lonely and grumpy, whereas elders with pets were more friendly and outgoing. Even more sad- some shelters called “kill shelters” “will put down” an animal if they are too old and not getting adopted, but when we bring those animals to those senior homes, the elders might just get inspired to adopt one and make their lives better!
Volunteer
Help is always appreciated! When you sign up, all the information about the upcoming event is sent via email to you. To help, you can: talk to shelters or rescues and senior homes to set up events, come to the senior home and set up treats, toys, and playpens, drive the pups to senior homes, and hang up flyers about the event in the homes. Spread the word!
Donate Section
Donating is wonderful, but we actually aren’t a real nonprofit! (yet!!). Luckily the following nonprofits do exist and are amazing furry places to donate to. Every dollar is helping a pooch so start saving one today!
- Sunflower Sanctuary Animal Rescue:preventing cruelty to animals, educating the public on the importance of spaying and neutering, animal abuse and neglect, and lessoning the burden on our government run shelters.
- Animal HumaneTo support and improve the lives of New Mexico’s cats and dogs through sheltering, adoptions, humane education and veterinary services.
- Cross My Paws Animal Rescueto ceaselessly combat animal homelessness and reduce euthanasia rates in New Mexico by implementing extensive spay/neuter programs, heightening the standard of animal care, and fostering comprehensive vaccination efforts.
