Temporary Pets
Donate
Though we have many options for support, but we do not accept donations. Though, if you would like to donate to similar non-profit we recomend these options:
- Animal Humane
- Mission Statement: To support and improve the lives of New Mexico’s cats and dogs through sheltering, adoptions, humane education, and veterinary services.
- People’s Anti-Cruelty Association (PACA)
- Mission Statement: To rescue, rehabilitate, and rehouse homeless dogs and cats.
- New Mexico Animal Friends
- Mission Statement: To rescue homeless dogs and cats and provide temporary quality care for them in foster homes until permanent adoptive homes can be found.
Volunteer
If you volunteer to take care of a pet do not worry about resources, they will be provided, and the pet will be driven to your house so an address will be needed. Though you can’t take multiple pets at the same time in order to stop confusion, you are able to take care of an animal multiple times. The only exception for multiple animals is if you're an experienced fosterer who specializes in one of the categories being cats and dogs and you come at the right time of year.* (see events)
Events
Throughout the course of the year we have different events. One of them is the Spring Fever Fosterer Event, which is where we allow fosterers to take care of a litter of kittens or puppies since it is kitten and puppy season to keep our non-profit running smoothly. We also have multiple occasions where people are able to take some of our dogs on an agility course. Finally we have a special event for kids in the summer where, if they do not have anything planned, they can spend a day or to help us give basic training to some of our pets.
